Vitamin D Deficiencies Becoming Universal
If vitamin D comes from the sun, how can so many people be deficient? Well, lots of people avoid the sun. Lots more incessantly block the sun with sun block. Lots more cannot convert sunlight into vitamin D because this requires cholesterol-which medicine has been trying to block with bizarre diets and statin drugs for decades.
And still lots more people take vitamin D supplements that do little good. The reason is simple-real vitamin D from real food (what a concept!) is made up of dozens or even hundreds of variations-not just one synthetic version produced for "vitamins." And the same goes for all kinds of foods (like milk) that are "fortified" with vitamin D. They do no good-again for the same reasons.
So now we discover that vitamin D levels have been dropping in both sexes and for all ages and ethnic groups for two decades1-during the same time period that foods have been "fortified." And since vitamin D deficiency is linked to all kinds of health problems-including weak bones, a weakened Immune System, cancer, and more-it is now becoming critical.
Combating D Deficiency
So what are you supposed to do? Well for starters, take it easy on the sun block. I use sun block in sensitive areas, but I do not lather it all over my body. Keep your cholesterol levels normal by avoiding statin drugs and eating a healthy diet that includes eggs, whole raw milk, dairy, fish, and real butter. Forget about most vitamin D "fortified" foods and even vitamin D supplements. Instead get your vitamin D from the best source-Cod Liver Oil.
Cod Liver Oil (CLO) is rich in vitamins A and D. And the last remaining real oil, Blue IceTM High Vitamin Fermented Cod Liver Oil is rich in all the variations of the whole vitamin D Complex. Almost all other brands of CLO now remove the real vitamin A and D. Some manufacturers add back synthetic versions. Avoid any CLO but Blue IceTM High Vitamin Fermented.
