Turning Your Health Around

Turning Your Health Around

If you are reading this, it is safe to say that you are or have been suffering with a health concern of some sort.  You are dealing with pain and dysfunction within your body.  You are not in 100 % agreement with your life and your surroundings, as indicated by your pain and dysfunction.  And because of that, I would like to give you a tool that you will absolutely need to use if you ever want to get rid of your imbalance/dysfunction or pain.  And it might seem a little basic or simple, but I have come to fully appreciate that the Universe we all live in works with the least amount of resistance; hence "keep it simple."  So if you can allow yourself the opportunity to take this concept into your mind, and then allow it into your heart, you will begin to turn your health situation around.  This I know with absolute certainty.  This is my promise to you.  And if it doesn't work for you, there is only one reason for that.  And you can then thank yourself.  You simply didn't allow yourself that experience.  You continued to focus on what you currently have, and the Universe gave you more of that.  See, this is a Universal Law.  It's called the Law of Attraction, and it says you get what you think about, whether you want it or not.  And when honored will always produce the results you intend.  In fact, if it doesn't work for you (meaning getting a positive outcome) and you get less than the positive results you are intending, then you are not truly believing your ability to have those positive results, and therefore have given yourself what you expected, less than positive results.  I hope you can see that.

So what you may choose to strongly consider is to stop thinking about your current situation, and start thinking about the future you would like to have.  The future you.  Not the present you, but the YOU you would like to create.  Focus on your desired outcome.  Picture yourself without the pain or dysfunction you are currently experiencing.  Picture yourself being fully healed, and doing all the things you'd love to be doing, if you didn't have your health concern.  That is what would be optimal for your focus to be.  I can hear you saying, "But that is a fantasy, that is not real, or that is untrue.  I can't lie to myself and expect it to be true."  And I agree with you.  But there is a saying, "Fake it 'til you make it."  Picture your ideal outcome in your mind, and keep doing that.  Do it so often, that you aren't thinking about anything else.  See yourself doing all the things you'd be doing without a health concern, and feel what it feels like.  Feel the HOPEFULNESS you have imagining yourself thinking, feeling and doing all those things you are thinking, feeling and doing WITHOUT the health concern, WITHOUT the pain.  Be OPEN to it.  BELIEVE it, and allow yourself to have the POSITIVE EXPECTATION of that.  Feel the HAPPINESS of feeling that way.  Have ENTHUSIASM for it and EAGERNESS for it.  Develop a PASSION for it and begin to APPRECIATE it!  LOVE it!  Feel the FREEDOM of it!  Feel EMPOWERED and JOYFUL in the process of doing it!

Consider this example: I've had Practice Members say, "I can't imagine myself without this problem, as I've had it for so long."  I say, "That's the problem!  You can't even imagine yourself without your problem, hence you can't experience anything different than your problem."  Do you see that?   Start small and work up to something much grander, BUT work up to something much grander.

I have a Practice member who has been on pain meds for far too long, is addicted to them and is in severe pain without them.  I coached them the following way:

"Can you imagine what you would do if you didn't have any pain?" "In all honesty, NO!" "I appreciate the honesty, and that's O.K.  But can you see how you won't stop the pain if you don't at least begin to appreciate what it will be like to be without the pain? You'll still experience what you've always experienced…pain.  If you don't think differently, you can't experience differently.  Does that make sense to you?  You'll have to think differently to experience differently.  Again, can you see that?  And in order to experience differently, you have to think differently.  And the way to think differently is you have to imagine it happening first.  Therefore, can you imagine what you would do if you didn't have the pain?  Anything?  What would you want to do if you had no pain at all?  It can be anything.  There are no wrong answers here." "That's hard, because I've had pain for so long." "I appreciate that, but could you try and think of something, anything, you would truly want to do if you didn't have pain?  Anything?" "I would clean my windows." "Clean your windows?  That's what you would choose to do if you didn't have any pain?  Really?" "Yes, they are filthy, and they need cleaning." "O.K., that's great, let's go with that.  Now imagine your windows are clean. Can you imagine that?  They are clean!  I'm excited, your windows are clean!   And what would you do next, now that your windows are clean?" "Clean my house." "O.K. and when your windows and house are clean, what would you do next?  What would bring you joy?  You have a granddaughter who I have met and is absolutely beautiful.  What would you want to do with Amelia?" "Go for a walk to the end of the driveway." "And when you got to the end of the driveway, what would you do?" "Get the mail." "And after the mail, what fun and exciting things would you like to do with Amelia?  Can you picture what that would be like?  Can you feel the warmth of the sun on your face, the softness of Amelia's hand in yours, the smell of the air, the sounds of the birds, the freedom of being able to walk down the driveway, without any restrictions, bending and moving without any restrictions, enjoying the time with your granddaughter and hearing her talk to you and experience this time with you, and you appreciating all the wonderfulness of being with her, your granddaughter, enjoying the time and enjoying her?  Can you feel what that would feel like?  Can you imagine what that would feel like?  Can you see yourself doing that?" "YES!" "And what does that feel like?" "It feels great!" "And does that inspire you to want more?" "Yes!" "And tell me about your pain right now.  Do you feel pain right now?" "NO, I feel great, and I don't have pain.  That's amazing.  I don't have pain!  I DON'T HAVE PAIN!!" "Great, that's absolutely Fantastic!  Now, I want you to go home and write to me a story which we just started, and I want you to write it with such detail and such positive feelings, such emotions and positive adverbs that when I read it, I will feel like I am with you.  I will see what you are describing.  I will be there with you.  I will feel what you are feeling.  Can you go do that?" "Yes!" "Great, I look forward to taking a walk with you and Amelia."

Now, do you get the idea of this exercise?  Do you have any questions?  Can you allow yourself to do the see thing?  Can you write me a story so detailed, so descriptive and so positive with enthusiasm and hope that you can allow yourself to feel that way, that you are expecting yourself to feel that way?  Can you do that?  Can you make it feel so real that you actually feel it yourself while thinking about it?  Will you allow yourself that?  Bring it to me the next time you come in.  No excuses.  For if you don't allow yourself to feel this and don't take the time to do this exercise, can you tell me what will change for you between now and your next visit?  Will you be thinking, feeling and experiencing anything different then you are right now?   Does that motivate you to do the exercise?  And initially, there will naturally be resistance.  And this is normal.  And if you allow yourself to come from a place of play, you can open yourself up to the experience and you will have the experience.  It is impossible to experience resistance and joy at the same time.  It is impossible.  So let go of your resistance, open yourself to your joy, and allow the pain and dysfunction to leave your experience.  And the sooner the better, don't you think?

Your Choice

Health concerns are a major source of lost happiness and lost joy in all of our lives. Finding a solution that is agreeable and enables you to get back to your life is important. Please appreciate that you always have the more invasive surgery and prescription medication available to you as a last resort. What many Traditional Medical Doctors may not share is, many times, once you begin that journey into medication and/or surgery, it alters your original body from the one that you were born with. Unfortunately, at that time, more conservative and natural treatments may no longer be viable. I encourage you to consider that before making any decisions about treatment for your health. As always I am here to help.

Your Choice:

  • Continue doing the same thing and nothing changes or it may get worse
