Dr. Huntoon's Wish For You And Yours

I WISH EVERYONE A Merry Christmas, whether they celebrate Christmas or not, as we are all human beings and I believe in what Jesus, born a Jew, came to stand for; Being a Light and a Way to find spiritual happiness/fulfillment.

I am inspired to write this as this time last year a potential Practice Member came into my office for a condition I felt I could help.  His wife made the call and when I said I felt I could help him, she asked me to speak to him to address some of his concerns/considerations.  Now when he got on the phone, he discussed with me his strong Catholic beliefs and asked if I would have any problems with that and more importantly, did I have any beliefs he would have a problem with that went against his religious belief system.  I assured him that I was baptized and although I have not gone to church regularly, I do consider myself a Christian.  I also assured him I would not let any differences in our beliefs interfere with my ability to help him, nor would I judge his beliefs when helping him.  And I hoped he would allow my experience to help facilitate his getting better.  He chose to make an appointment and we met at my office and I went through my normal exam and consultation for he and his wife.  As all of you are aware, or perhaps you are not, I do muscle testing in my office in an effort to find areas of weakness or imbalance, and what is contributing to that weakness or imbalance, whether it is emotions, toxins, nutritional deficiencies, allergies, structural imbalances or imbalances in physiology.  As always, I encouraged the person to ask questions if they had any, to be sure to clarify anything that didn’t make sense to them; or if their life experience had shown them differently, to discuss and to share their experiences in the process.  At the end of the visit, he chose not to allow me to help him with his health concern and I respected his choice.  After all, I am not attached to his choice and find that giving him the freedom to choose without me feeling rejected or not good enough if he chooses to do something different then my recommendation, is the healthy choice for me as the facilitator.

I was then greeted with an e-mail a day or so later telling me he had reflected upon our time together. He said there were several items that are weighing heavily on his mind.  He then proceeded to pass on his concerns related to my beliefs and my way of practicing and told me I would never be able to fill the hole in myself if I do not accept Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.  Not knowing who I am other than the time we spent together and then passing judgments about my life and my practice, I felt was very un-Christian of him and it has inspired the following information.  I encourage all of you reading to consider what I share with you and allow it to help you to a new perspective as we celebrate the birth of Christ.

I do my best to live my life by the following statement given to me by an author and friend from one of his many books and seminars I have read and attended with him.  He asks, “Is there something I do not know or understand, the knowing or understanding of which could change everything?”  My answer, and what I feel is a universal answer, is always “YES.”  And what that “YES” does for me is it opens up my mind and my heart to a new level of information and discernment.  And I have always found solutions to my problems when I allow myself to be open.  And I do my best to share this mentality with my Practice Members.

Let me be the first to acknowledge, what I do requires a little open-mindedness, and a little understanding of the “technology” behind the whole premise of muscle testing.  This in itself is why I spend the first 30 minutes of a consultation going over it and making sure the person I am sharing the information with doesn’t have any questions.  And if they do, I answer them or give them references for getting more “science-based” answers to their questions.  In his case, I don’t think he would allow himself to be open to the discipline.   And my feeling is his fear is what kept him from expanding his awareness of what is possible and being willing to see things in a new way.  I wish him well on his journey to his health returning.

Within the muscle testing arena, I have found there are four phases of discovery a person can discern from using muscle testing as a tool.  And I feel I have come to master the fourth level and live my highest example of it that I can when practicing the Art of Muscle Testing.  And every day I come to my practice and continue to practice my highest level of understanding.  I also feel the same can be applied to any discipline, including religious beliefs.  The following are the Four Phases.

Phase One is where you as the practitioner learn what you are being taught and you learn to develop a functional relationship with the information.  And so you go into your practice and you do just that, you practice what you’ve been told to be true.  And you do your best to develop some confidence in what you are practicing and that what you've been taught is valid.  And over time of continuous practice, you begin to move into Phase Two.  This is very similar to any practice of religion.  You listen intently to what you are being taught or what you read and you apply the information as best you can into your life.  And you develop a certain sense of confidence that what you've been taught is true.  You begin to develop your faith.

Phase Two is where you take your confidence and you begin to think you “know” what you are doing and you think you “know” what you are finding and you begin to become dogmatic with your ability as “this means this” and “this means that” and “this is true because I have found it to be true over and over again.”  This can be a dangerous place to be, thinking what you know is the absolute truth when no one ever knows anything absolutely.  This becomes clear when you have other objective testing done that indicates a different outcome than you came to through the muscle testing.  Similarly, when practicing a religious belief, it is based in your developing faith and has little to do with objective information.  You begin to share with others your belief and pass it on with conviction.  Unfortunately, without “proof,” it makes it hard to believe, and yet people can have the strongest of faith in their religious beliefs.  Again, this is a dangerous place to be and hopefully will inspire one to move on to the next level of understanding.  This is where you begin to move into Phase Three.

Phase Three is where you now realize you do not know what you think you knew as there is more than meets the eye, and initially you are humbled by the results; or you can lose faith in the tool; or you can become more dogmatic and hold onto the belief you are "right."  Any one of the three conclusions allows you to reevaluate the tool and I feel this is an important part of the four phases.  You get to reevaluate what is your truth and not someone else’s truth.  You get to develop YOUR TRUTH.  Not based on someone else’s perspective or experience, but from your own experience, which is what life is all about.  In religion, I believe this is what lead to the different branches of Catholicism, everyone had their subtly different perspectives and developed their version and developed their branch of the Bible.  And whether muscle testing or practicing your religious beliefs, I believe it prepares you for Phase Four.

Phase Four is where you can really begin to help people.  Phase Four is where you get to develop your ability to discern without prejudice; without dogma; without attachment to the outcome and most importantly, without ego.  Phase Four is where you can truly help to facilitate a person’s ability to find their own truth, which is a great gift.  This allows the receiver of the muscle testing to begin to take responsibility for their health concern which allows for true healing.  And the facilitator feels fulfilled by helping to facilitate a person’s healing process.  Nothing in my experience has been able to touch that feeling I have when this is experienced in my Practice Member, especially when they tell me how grateful they are for helping them find their truth.  How this applies to religion practice is it allows for the person to share the information without feeling the need to "put it on" someone else or for the receiver of the religious information to feel like they are being preached to.  The person with the information feels fulfilled with sharing the information and the receiver is grateful for the knowledge.  Everyone wins.

So why am I sharing all of this with you, and what does this have to do with the initial patient?  Simply, I see the serendipity of the experience.  You see, I feel there are no accidents and that everything is divinely perfect, and it is our ability to see through the illusion of life that affords us our greatest gift, the gift of spiritual freedom; The ability to be in this world, but not of it; To be able to be in our peace and happiness without being affected negatively by our thoughts or our experience in the moment.  And I see the clarity of what this interaction with this individual has afforded to me; and I am grateful for it.

Someone’s belief system is a lot like the experience of muscle testing.  When we are very young, we look to our teachers for truth and develop an ability to trust what we’ve been taught as truth.  That equates to Phase One:  We repeat what we have been told and we do it with a certain level of certainty, for the people who gave us this information are people we trust and respect.  But like all young individuals, life causes us to question what we’ve been told, especially if what we find in our own experience is different from what we were taught.  In that process, we become confused and may become fearful of what life is showing us and what the truth is.  We do not want to question our teachers, for they know better than we do and it is our ability to stay in our faith that will carry us through.  And yet, it is in this phase where we begin to look for answers.  Or that fear of what is outside of our understanding causes us to simply stay limited with what we’ve been taught and champion that limited perspective as being the whole truth.  One of the places many have found answers in life is there particular faith or religion.  And most religions are pretty clear about what is “appropriate” and what is not.  And we are to take on what we have been taught and to never question it.  This equates to Phase Two.  Simply applying what we’ve been taught and never question it.  This becomes problematic because it doesn’t allow for freedom of thought.  For me, that was a problem, because I had many questions my religion didn’t answer, and neither could my teachers at the time.  So I went on a quest to find answers from different sources and I learned to evaluate how I felt, based upon what I was hearing.  I began to notice what my heart felt.  If I felt comfortable and relaxed, kind of like, “Yeah, that makes sense,” then I would go with it.  If I felt uncomfortable and tense, I would either reject the notion, or I would ask more questions until I could either accept it or reject it.  And before coming to my own conclusions I felt like Phase Three: not knowing to be true what I thought to be true and being humbled by my lack of understanding.  I picture myself at about age 20 when all of a sudden my parents were not as “stupid” as I once thought they were, and in fact they were quite smart.  Humbling to say the least.  Then we slowly move into Phase Four, where we develop life experience and we develop life “wisdom” by finding the truth that feels right to us.  And this is a good place to be: Finding Our Own Truth and feeling centered and grounded in it.  And once you can find this for yourself, you are no longer attached to others agreeing with or disagree with your truth.  And you can appreciate and have compassion for their truth and their process of self discovery.  And most importantly, you can allow for their truth, as you know it does not take away from your own truth.  And I feel we all need to consider this if we are going to expand into the next phase of our evolutionary process as human beings.  Life is evolving; we as a race of humans are evolving; and we as individuals are evolving.  And if we are to evolve on this planet, we need to be able to do it as a world people.  We need to have more compassion for each other and certainly for ourselves.  We need to take responsibility for our lives and our choices and most of all, our outcomes and our experiences as individuals.  We need to take back our powers as individuals and stop making others the cause of our imbalances and upsets.  We need to see the commonality of all human beings regardless of their belief system or religious or spiritual faith and we need to allow others to have a different experience from our own and allow that to be O.K. with us.  We need to celebrate our differences and not condemn another because they believe something different or dress differently or speak differently or look differently from us.  We need to embrace everyone on this planet and understand that they are going though their version of what we are going through and to have the compassion to at least understand that they have a right to a difference of perspective; they have a right to see things their way; and you have a right to see things your way.  AND we do not need to pass judgment or condemn them for being, feeling, thinking or doing something that we are not.  In fact, I feel we should celebrate our differences because we do not know the path that they have taken and we do not know that our truth is any better than their truth based on what we have experienced versus what they have experienced.  And it comes back to what I started this with:  Is there something I do not know or understand, the knowing or understanding of which could change everything?  My hope for you is you will say “Yes” and continue to ask that question every time you are in a place where you need support in your life.  I feel the question allows your heart to open to a new level of perception and see a new level of solutions for your hardships and perhaps help another to find their answers for themselves.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, regardless of your faith, he was a man who did exist and like all humans, deserves a little recognition for his gift to the planet.  I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and let’s make 2013 the happiest and healthiest of New Years.

Love and Light;

Your Choice

Health concerns are a major source of lost happiness and lost joy in all of our lives. Finding a solution that is agreeable and enables you to get back to your life is important. Please appreciate that you always have the more invasive surgery and prescription medication available to you as a last resort. What many Traditional Medical Doctors may not share is, many times, once you begin that journey into medication and/or surgery, it alters your original body from the one that you were born with. Unfortunately, at that time, more conservative and natural treatments may no longer be viable. I encourage you to consider that before making any decisions about treatment for your health. As always I am here to help.
